| Respiratory System Toxicopathology & Biopharmaceuticals – a challenge for toxicopathology |
Invitation
Dear Colleagues / Friends,
It is a pleasure to invite you to the 8th EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF TOXICOLOGIC PATHOLOGY
organised by the European Society of Toxicologic Pathology (ESTP) in conjunction with
the Hungarian Society of Toxicologists. This global event will be held September 28th –
October 1st, 2010 at the Helia Hotel in Budapest, Hungary.
Hungary’s glorious capital Budapest is winning the hearts of all its visitors. Budapest is often,
and correctly, compared to Paris and Vienna in the style of its architecture and in its elegant
beauty. It is also a city with a definitely modern, strongly improving economy. Budapest is
a European capital. She is rendered magical by the river, the Danube, which divides the city
into two. Hills, mountains, the line of hotels on the Pest side, an air of history, the pleasant
climate, festivals and cultural events prove that the city is indeed the pearl of the Danube.
Budapest possesses a rich and fascinating history as well as a vibrant cultural heritage.
Recognizing the unique value of its traditions it has managed to maintain its magic
and charm, and is rightly known as the Queen of the Danube. Only Budapest can say
of itself that it has Europe‘s largest Parliament, largest functioning synagogue and the
continent‘s first underground railway. The visitor will find side by side the remains of
fortresses and buildings from Roman times, still operating Turkish baths, Gothic and
Baroque buildings, and the incredibly rich Art Nouveau architectural heritage.
The conference will be held at the Danubius Health Spa Resort Helia, situated on the
bank of the River Danube 4 km from downtown Budapest, with views to the Buda Hills
and Margaret Island, where you will have opportunities to relax after a busy day of
science in its spa and wellness facilities.
The topics for the 8th European Congress of Toxicologic Pathology are:
- Respiratory System Toxicopathology
The sessions include fundamentals of respiratory system toxicology and pathology;
animal models and techniques used in research and drug development; pulmonary
responses to inhaled nanostructures; and development of inhaled drugs for use in
children.
- Biopharmaceuticals – a challenge for toxicopathology
The sessions include a wide range of lectures on biopharmaceuticals; issues and
challenges in preclinical and clinical safety testing; biodistribution, and pathology
of antibodies, stem cells, and vaccines.
We intend to provide interactive discussions in these sessions between our speakers and
colleagues, to learn and exchange knowledge from our experiences in these challenging
fields.
For details of the congress program, please see the
program and for updated
information, please visit our website www.eurotoxpath.org.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Budapest on September 28th, 2010.

Call for Case Presentations
Cases for oral presentation are welcome on all topics of pathology. The template for case
presentations as well as the online submission form is now available for the Congress.
The deadline for submission is August 1, 2010. Please see the
Case Presentation Submission Page for further details.
This year cases will be presented in two afternoon sessions: 29th and 30th September, 2010.
The session on the 29th September, will be an interactive session to exchange knowledge
on interpreting pathology slides, generate lively and productive discussion, and most
importantly, to have a good time.
During each case, the presenter will project a series of images of lesions and suggest a
choice of diagnosis/answers. The audience will then vote via wireless keypads, and the
voting results will be displayed on the screen. After each voting session, time will be
allowed for discussion of the diagnoses.
Call for Posters
The template for poster abstracts, as well as the online submission form, is now available
for the 2010 ESTP Congress in Budapest.
This year there will be an award for the best poster sponsored by the SFPT (French
Society of Toxicologic Pathology).
The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2010. Please see the
Abstract Submission Page for further details.
