Clinical findings: Signs for ~14 days:
  • Deteriorating general condition
  • Slow eating
  • Reluctant
  • Pale
Clinical signs:
  • Very pale mucous membranes
  • Slightly increased respiratory rate
  • Bilateral systolic heart murmurs
  • Low body condition score
  • Ungroomed appearance
Clinical pathology:
  • Haematocrit, decreased
  • Haemoglobin, decreased
  • Red blood cells, decreased
  • Reticulocytes, decreased
  • Blood smears – Non-regenerative anaemia
  • ALT increased
  • ALP increased
  • AST increased
Organ(s): Spleen, Liver, Bone marrow (sternum)
Gross finding(s): Very pale mucous membranes.
Enlarged spleen.
Liver with enhanced lobular pattern and granular surface.
Thickened gall bladder wall.
